Fit-for-purpose technology
More data, more sensors or newer technology do not automatically lead to better cultivation decisions. We start from the question and work backwards to what needs to be controlled, measured or automated, helping navigate the available technology without adding complexity that does not serve the goal.

Multidisciplinary by design
Plant physiology, environmental control, engineering and data analysis are all needed to understand a controlled cultivation system. Our team is deliberately built across these disciplines so experiments can be designed and interpreted as a whole.

Our own research is open
Much of indoor cultivation, particularly vertical farming, is highly proprietary, while public production, yield and economic data remain scarce. We publish the methods, results and practical lessons from research initiated and conducted by Swift CEA. Work with external partners follows the agreements made for that project.
